Hardware design
Sizing and complete hardware design — schematics and PCB layout — starting from the specification provided.
AM Ingegneria is an independent studio specialising in power and industrial electronics. We design power supplies, converters and inverters — from hardware sizing through to functional bench testing in the lab.
AM Ingegneria is an independent engineering studio, specialising in the design of power and industrial electronics. The studio was founded in 2006 out of the experience of Andrea Menicucci, built up over years of hardware design work at major companies in the electronics industry.
We develop switching power supplies, power stations and inverters, from the client's specification through to the finished prototype.
While our early work was focused mainly on power supplies and power stations, today a significant part of our work is also dedicated to electronics for home appliances. We can take a project forward independently, from specification to prototype, or join a larger team as consultants on specific parts.
Developed, alone or in collaboration, across more than 100 power electronics projects.
We work across power levels from one watt to one megawatt.
We work exclusively on power hardware — a focus that allows a high level of expertise.
Six areas of work, one goal: reliable power hardware, ready for production.
Sizing and complete hardware design — schematics and PCB layout — starting from the specification provided.
Support on specific parts of larger projects, remotely or on site at the client's premises.
Functional testing on prototypes up to 5 kW in our own lab; for higher power levels, we operate on site at the client's.
Specification of transformers and inductors at switching frequencies, for both conversion and filtering.
Feasibility studies on innovative topologies and R&D collaborations for power electronics.
Drafting of specifications, hardware requirements and validation documents.
Eight product families, one core competence: energy conversion.
Requirements, constraints, expected performance and application context.
Choice of topology and definition of the main electrical quantities.
Schematic, PCB, magnetic components and prototype build.
Measurement, debugging and iteration, through to a functionally verified solution.
Our studio has been active since 2006, based in Umbria, and has worked from the outset with a number of notable companies in Italy and abroad — including SABAF, CANDY HOOVER, ALSTOM TRANSPORT, FABER, WHIRLPOOL EUROPE and TELETECNICA.
The lean approach typical of a small practice lets us combine specialist expertise with fast turnaround, avoiding the organisational complexity of large groups and ensuring greater attention to detail. Our in-house lab supports functional testing up to 5 kW.
